Mabinay holds Kampo 2K

The municipality of Mabinay held a municipal-wide smokefree camp, the Kampo Kabataang Kabayani last September 30 – October 2, 2011 at the NORSU-Mabinay Campus with the theme: “STRENGTHENING OUR COMMITMENT FOR A SMOKEFREE COMMUNITY”.

The three-day camp was participated by SSG officers and advisers, school classroom and club officers, SK officials and political leaders. The event was spear-headed by SB Cris Emperado, Hon. SB Dc. Uy, Hon. Federated SK President Felix A. Ocay, Hon. Prof. Richard B. Osumu (Kampo 2K Director), Hon. Prof. Cesar Estrope (Ka’Bayani Convener).

One of the highlights of the camp was the creation of the Mabinay Youth Coalition. Two of the MNHS students, Ellyn Fhie Mayagma and Reyshiel N. Saldo are members of the coalition which is formed to create synergy of actions among the different youth organizations of the municipality. The coalition presented their Plan of Actions to the board of stakeholders on the third day of the camp.

The youth leaders engaged in activities like the BUGAHANAY, a youth summit wherein SB Cris Emperado discussed issues regarding smoking including the municipal ordinance no. 08. Another activity is the Larong Pinoy and the formation o a fivelayer pyramid which add up to the fun felt by the participants.
