3 Ripple scribes bag major awards in division gab; Qualifiers to the Reg’l confab

Three campus-journalists from “The Ripple”, the official school publication of Mabinay National High School grabbed major awards from the Division Schools Press Conference held at Negros Oriental High School, Dumaguete City on October 20-22, 2011 with the theme “Let’s love Mother Earth”. Elementary and secondary schools from the province of Negros Oriental gathered for the competition.

Reyshiel N. Saldo won the 1st place in News writing (English), Dhyssa-Wency S. Sumagaysay was declared 2nd in Feature writing (English) and John Edward G. Banong grabbed the 3rd place in Sports writing (Filipino). Other student-writers were Lenny Rose Señeres, Yrnel Entierro, Nancy Sunshine S. Esplaguera, Annabelle R. Empenado, Esarvy D. Romano, Sheilah Marie A. Cacas, Japhet Narciso, Krugger A. Villanueva, Dexie Faye P. Mondia, and Xandra Joy Estrella. Together with them were the school paper advisers and coaches Mrs. Ruth H. Gesulgon and Ms. Evely M. Cacaldo.

The three Ripple top writers, Saldo, Sumagaysay and Banong, will represent MNHS and the Division of Negros Oriental in the Regional School Press Conference to be held at Dumaguete City on December 6-9, 2011. Kudos, Ripple Scribes!
